Nobody wants to stop killing

Today, for almost 300 million people in the world who speak Russian, there are barely more than 3 public resources in Russian about nonviolence. This site you are reading now is based on one of those few public resources.

Unfortunately, even if you hear somewhere the words “No war” or “Stop police brutality”, this does not mean at all that people are talking about nonviolence and they are looking for ways to give up the bloody protection of their lives or at least to stop managing other people's lives.

The ratio of 1: 100,000,000 is not just an eerie testimony to the indifference and cruelty that prevails everywhere. It also results in a terrible loneliness for those who are trying to think and live differently.

In these conditions, every person who seeks to break his/her addiction to violence and help others in this becomes simply priceless. Therefore, if you want to share your story, projects, questions, doubts, beliefs — do not hesitate to contact us via email info@tolstoycenter.org.

If you …

  • cannot find yourself a place apart from the cruelty and callousness with which those around you defend lives and order
    • threatening people with bodily harm and death (by way of the army, police, secret services)
    • burning and tearing them apart with their weapons
    • maiming, disfiguring, and torturing them in prison
  • cannot understand why this horror and shame makes practically no impression on Christians
  • are confused by armed police on the streets and your obligation to obey “lawful orders” from the authorities
  • do not know how to behave in a situation of mass intoxication and the cult of power
  • do not wish to pay for legalized violence through your taxes
  • do not want to be part of a society that finds security for itself through threats and killings….

…  then keep reading.
